We undertook crankshaft repair and grinding of Yanmar Engine 6N165 on board a vessel. When our specialists boarded the ship, they learned that the vessel owner had hired two local businesses to grinding a defective crankpin for one number. Both businesses were unable to grinding the crankpin because the required tooling was unavailable for the damaged crankpin. We were forced to grinding the part down to 4.0 mm undersize.
