Ambernath Shivalaya is a famous ancient temple located in Ambernath city of Maharashtra. Devoted to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities of Hinduism, the temple is believed to have been constructed in 1060 AD, by King Chhittaraja from the Shilahara dynasty. The temple is known as one of the oldest temples in the region.Known for its unique architecture, Ambernath Shivalaya features sophisticated carvings and sculptures. The massive Shivalinga is the main attraction of the temple, which is about 5ft in height and is situated in the sanctum sanctorum. The temple complex also includes several other smaller shrines devoted to different deities.
