Vijayawada (also known as Bezawada) is a city in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh , situated on the banks of the mighty Krishna river and surrounded by the Indrakeeladri hills of Eastern Ghats in the district. It geographically lies in the centre of Andhra Pradesh state. It is the second largest city in the state, and also its commercial and educational capital.
