What is a GPS splitter, and how does it work?

A GPS splitter is a device that allows multiple devices to share a single GPS signal. GPS (Global Positioning System) receivers need signals from satellites to determine their location. In some situations, you might need several GPS receivers to use the same signal, like in labs, testing environments, or vehicles with multiple GPS-based systems. Instead of using a separate antenna for each receiver, a GPS splitter helps by letting all receivers connect to just one GPS antenna.
The GPS antenna captures signals from satellites. The splitter then takes this signal and divides it into multiple outputs, sending the same GPS data to each connected receiver. Each receiver can then use the shared GPS signal to function as if it had its own antenna.
There are different types of GPS splitters, like passive and active. Passive splitters simply divide the signal, while active splitters can amplify it to ensure strong signals reach all devices. Active splitters are commonly used when the signal needs to travel over longer distances or to more devices.
