They feature a multi-point locking mechanism that locks the window after it's shut. The handle works by turning a spindle which extends from the back of the handle and locks into a gearbox within the window. This is a process of moving a series of locks around the window perimeter to allow it to be opened. Espag handles are available in a variety of spindle sizes that range from as little as 10 mm or as much as 55 millimeters.
