This feature is a way to get more out of an upgrade, since it doesn't impact the level of the item upgrading or its bonus. Click on the box icon on the item Upgrades and choose "Reroll". The upgrade you choose to reroll will be random, and upgrade item (Shorl.Com) the original's extra bonuses will not be restored.
